Zen Patriarch - Zen Master

At all levels of learning, high, middle, and low, may I understand just by hearing, thinking, and seeing. Wherever I am born as a Zen Patriarch, may the land be blessed. So that all living beings can be happy. O peaceful and frenzied Zen Patriarch, may I and others become like yourself, just like you. With your form and your auspicious characteristics. Your entourage, your long life and your riches. The peaceful and frenzied, infinite mercy.

The Power of the Truth of Pure Teaching, and the Students in Concentrated Meditation. May their blessings fill this Inspirational Prayer. Zen Patriarch does not fear because of his aggression and his neurotic veils which are like lights and rays. He breaks out of the circle, even if one is still blinded. Even if he is invited to hell, he escapes from the terrible deities.

The Lotus Flower and the Peacock Throne

The lotus flower opens whether the sun or the moon shines on it, it opens against the light and accepts every situation from outside. She also has the quality of complete purity; this compassion can grow in mud and dirt, but the flower is perfect and pure. The Zen Patriarch sits on a peacock throne. This means openness and receptivity. The peacock feeds on poison and its wonderful colors are produced from this poisonous food.

It is an openness that goes so far as to deal with any negative situation, even compassion is almost inspired by negative situations.
