Renewal Ceremony Marriage Vows – Marriage Vows – Loyalty and Love – Respect and Responsibility

At the renewal marriage vows (wedding vows) ceremony, we affirm the journey together, the adventure of our own family. Marriage vows are respected and honored by true fidelity and love. We reflect as husband and wife, father and mother, so that the common goal of strengthening each other's backs is made clear.

One who conquers himself is greater than one who conquers a thousand in battle.

Shared Ceremony

The blessing for the spouses is spoken at 2 p.m. each year on the open day in the Honora Zen monastery.

Individual Ceremony

If you would like a vows renewal ceremony in an individual setting, please contact us at any time.

Wedding Vows Renewal Ceremony - Renewal Marriage Vows - Family

Marriage vows to support and respect each other in good times and bad are renewed. The spouses reflect on the origin in order to confirm and strengthen the common goal again. When it comes to getting married, the focus is on the vows. To promise each other: "In the face of good, I accept you as my wife/husband. I promise you loyalty in good times and bad, in health and sickness, until death do us part. I want to love you, respect and honor all the days of my life." Husband and wife together have a special vocation, in their love for one another, to reflect absolute and faithful love in the world.

Man and woman were made for each other. They are of different sexes, but equal in dignity, and are meant to complement one another. Conjugal love demands indissolubility and fidelity in mutual devotion, but also concern for the physical and spiritual well-being of the partner. Faithfulness and the lifelong duration of marriage give space for security, intimacy and reliability. They enable marriage to become a way and a school of true humanity; where one learns to perfect love, to be considerate of one another, to forgive one another and to bear one another's burdens.
