The Common Prayers – Pray for us, poor sinners, now and at the hour of our dying
The common prayers from my grandfather's prayer book (Men in prayer).
The Sign Of The Cross
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom be upon us, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
The Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, poor sinners, now and at the hour of our dying. Amen.
The Faith
I believe in God the Father, the almighty Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born of Mary the Virgin, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried been.
Descended into hell, ascended into heaven on the third day, is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty, from whence he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit
a holy catholic church,
community of saints,
remission of sins,
resurrection of the flesh and eternal life. Amen.
Glory to the Father
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, so also now and always and to the ages of eternity. Amen.
The Angel's Salute
The angel of the Lord brought the message to Mary, and she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary... Maria spoke: "See, I am a servant of the Lord, let it be done according to your word." Hail Mary...
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Hail Mary...
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, That we may be worthy of the promise of Christ.
Let us pray.
Behold, O Lord, your grace in our hearts!
We heard the message from the angel about the incarnation of Christ, your son, and want to be led through his body and cross to the glory of the resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Salve Regina
Hail, O Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness and our hope, hail. To you we sigh, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Well, our Advocate, turn your merciful eyes on us. And after this misery, show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb. O kind, o gentle, o sweet Virgin Mary!
Under your protection and shield let's flee, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our prayer in our needs, but always deliver us from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin, our Lady, our Mediatrix, our Advocate!
Reconcile us to your son, commend us to your son, introduce us to your son. Hail Mary...
