Compassion is not Pity – Factual Error – The truth that appears at the moment of death is lost in fear and terror!
Compassion. More compassion, then all problems would be solved! But it is often confused with pity, for compassion, like the true self, though always in front of one's nose, is incredibly difficult to achieve.
Factual Error
Compassion is often confused with pity. However, this factual error has serious consequences and an impossible result.
Contemplation about Compassion
The theoretical knowledge of some great teachers may be extensive, but if they only preach the truth by mouth, their theoretical knowledge evaporates. As soon as their spirit separates from the material body, their perception of the radiant clarity is clouded and the truth appearing at the moment of death is drowned out in fear and terror. The scriptures they have studied all their lives are of no use to them when the spirit leaves the physical body.
All meditators who practice developing mental stillness take the tangible experiences of clarity to be intuitive insights into the truth of dying. All their training in mental rest is of no use to them when they die, but becomes the cause of an animal existence.
My son, listen carefully! When you meditate in the right posture and the perceptions cease in an experience of no thought, this is called dull mental stillness. But when you clearly maintain mindfulness, you experience an inner radiance. An open awareness, unveiled and naked. Then you see the fundamental error of hope and fear.
My son, remember this well!
