The Lord’s Prayer – Pater Noster – It is a celebration and manifestation of the Logos!

The Lord's Prayer, also called the Our Father and the Pater Noster, is a venerated christian prayer that, according to New Testament, was taught by Jesus to his disciples.

It is a celebration and manifestation of the Logos. We all are subordinate to the Good and wish it will gradually become real in our very own life. It is a reflection of existence, and guides us through life. So we have and get a meaningful life (daily bread). In our responsibility to move to the top on the mountain, we also will make mistakes. But as God will forgive us, so we will treat the others. With this, we participate in the process.

If you would like to recite the pater noster at the funeral ceremony I usually will take the aramaic version.

Aramaic Version

Holy source, who dwell in us, spread your light over us.
Through our living hearts and our willing action, let your kingdom emerge in harmony.
Let your love become reality through us, as in light so in form.
Grant us constantly what we need in terms of bread and insight.
Free us from the misunderstandings that hold us tight, that we let go of the mistakes that we hold against others.
Let us become aware of and understand our experiences.
The driving force arises from you, bound in trust, constantly renewed in all parts.
So let it be.

Pater Noster

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,  the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen.
