Prayer against Livestock Diseases

1. Supplication

O God, you also created useful domestic animals as a comfort and reward for our labors and labors. We beseech you to protect the animals you have chosen for us to use and eat from the threatening epidemic. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, O God, for ever and ever. Amen.

2. Sacrificial Prayer

We bring you, O Lord, our offerings as atonement for our sins. Be reconciled through the holy sacrifice and extend your merciful help to us in our need of this troubled time. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

3. Communion Prayer

May Your blessing, O Lord, bestow upon us that it may heal us in body and soul, in our earthly and eternal goods, protect us from harm and avert the imminent danger to our domestic animals. We want to do the service you owe more faithfully and make ourselves worthy of your mercy by confessing our sins. Through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessing Prayer for Sick Livestock

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who created heaven and earth.

Lord, do not deal with us according to our misdeeds.

Men and animals, O Lord, you will heal,

For great, O God, is your mercy.

You open your gentle hand

And fill everything that lives with your blessing.

Lord hear my prayer

And let my call come to you.

The Lord be with you

And with your spirit.

O God, you have provided for the help of the dumb animals for the people in their arduous work. We humbly ask you, do not let these animals, which are necessary for human sustenance, perish and be withdrawn from our service. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We humbly beg your mercy, O Lord. In your name and in the power of your blessings, may these animals afflicted with serious illnesses recover. May all devilish influence be removed from them, so that they remain sick no longer, and may You grant them protection of life and remedies for recovery. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

Turn, O Lord, mercifully from thy believers all chastisement, and cast out the wicked disease that ravages the beasts, that thou shalt revive with thy merciful love those thy own whom thou rightly chastise when they stray from the right path they have improved. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Wendelin

Saint Wendelin, who once guarded and cared for our domestic animals, we trustingly seek refuge in you. We ask you to take merciful protection of the stable and farm and protect them through your mighty intercession from the plague that occurs. Take to our Heavenly Father our sorrows for the domestic animals he created for the benefit of mankind, that we may know his mercies now and always and be protected from harm. All for his glory and for our salvation, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
